I have always done art in one form or another since Jr High School.

I had a great teacher in 8th grade—about 1963—who really gave everyone in class a chance to experiment with their own expression to figure out what we liked and wanted to learn more about.   I created and sold a ton of oil painting in the style of Bill Alexander and Bob Ross in the 70’s, oils turned to acrylics, then india ink on glass inspired by Gary Jenkins—still one of my favorite mediums.

My current passions?  Watercolor, colored pencil and anything Zentangle®.  I make greeting cards, custom order pieces in both watercolor and colored pencil.  And Zentangle® inspired pieces either in black and white or sometimes in color.  I am a Certified Zentangle® Teacher (CZT) and hold classes regularly.

I love learning techniques by different artists.  My current favorite watercolorists are Joyce Hicks AWS, and Brenda Swenson.  I am inspired by the techniques and colors that both of them use to create art that is vibrant.

I also love to work on black sanded pastel paper (paper that is coated with gesso that includes extremely fine sand) with 6 shades of grey colored pencil.  Lots of drama and passion in the completed pieces, especially those inspired by Tango – which I also do quite well on the ballroom floor.

The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create  beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of  personal well being. The Zentangle® Method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.

We believe that life is an art form and that our Zentangle® Method is an elegant metaphor for deliberate artistry in life. As you practice the Zentangle® Method, you discover that not only can you  create beautiful art, you also can increase your focus and create a different mood and state of mind.
